Our Open MRI service is designed with patient comfort in mind. Unlike traditional closed MRI machines, our open MRI offers a spacious design, making it ideal for individuals who experience anxiety in enclosed spaces or have larger body types. This non-invasive technique uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of organs, muscles, joints, and soft tissues—without any radiation exposure. It is commonly used to evaluate neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and spinal disorders.
Key Features: Claustrophobic or pediatric patients, Brain, Spine, Joints, Soft tissue, ect.
Our High-Field MRI offers state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging with exceptional detail and speed. Using a powerful magnetic field 1.5 Tesla—this technology captures high-resolution images of soft tissues, organs, joints, and the brain with remarkable accuracy. High-Field MRI is especially valuable for neurological, musculoskeletal, and abdominal imaging, making it a vital tool in early detection and precise diagnosis.
Benefits of High-Field MRI at AMI:
Whether you’re experiencing chronic pain, neurological symptoms, or need follow-up imaging, our High-Field MRI ensures you receive the clearest picture of your health.
A CT Scan combines multiple X-ray images taken from different angles and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images of bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. This non-invasive test is often recommended when rapid, detailed internal views are needed. At our Seminole facility, we offer same-day CT scan appointments, ensuring you receive prompt and accurate diagnostic results to support timely treatment.
Key Features: Trauma, cancer detection, internal bleeding, chest and abdominal pain, infections, vascular diseases
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of the inside of the body. It’s a safe and painless imaging method with no radiation exposure. Our ultrasound services are commonly used to examine soft tissues, organs, and blood flow. They play a vital role in diagnosing conditions related to the abdomen, pelvis, thyroid, and vascular system.
Key Features: Pregnancy, liver/gallbladder/kidney evaluations, blood flow analysis, thyroid and soft tissue imaging
An echocardiogram is a specialized type of ultrasound that focuses on the heart. It provides live images that help evaluate heart function, chamber size, valve performance, and blood flow. Our expert technicians use this safe, non-invasive test to support physicians in diagnosing a range of cardiac conditions and monitoring ongoing heart health.
Key Features: Detecting heart murmurs, valve disorders, cardiomyopathies, and assessing overall cardiac function
X-rays are one of the most widely used and efficient diagnostic tools. They use a small dose of ionizing radiation to capture internal images of bones and organs. At Advanced Medical Imaging of Pinellas, we provide quick X-ray services with minimal wait times. Our skilled technicians ensure the highest image quality with maximum patient safety. We also offer same-day X-ray appointments for added convenience.
Key Features: Digital Imaging · Low-Dose Radiation · Same-Day Appointments · High-Resolution Results
Our Hologic Horizon Wi DEXA system is one of the most advanced bone densitometry tools available. It provides precise assessment of bone mineral density (BMD) to detect and monitor osteoporosis and fracture risk, while also offering whole-body composition analysis including visceral fat measurement, lean mass, and regional fat distribution.
Key Features: Osteoporosis Detection, Fracture Risk Assessment, Whole Body Composition, Visceral Fat Measurement
Our 3D Screening Mammogram uses the Hologic Dimensions system with C-View and CAD for enhanced early detection of breast cancer. It provides fast, comfortable exams with high-resolution imaging for women over 40 or those at increased risk.
Key Features: 3D Tomosynthesis · C-View 2D Reconstruction · CAD (Computer-Aided Detection) · Fast, Low-Dose Screening
Not all imaging studies can be self-referred. In most cases, a physician’s order is required by law and insurance providers. However, some screening exams—such as DEXA (bone density) or screening mammograms—may be eligible for self-referral depending on your insurance plan and clinical history.
We recommend calling our office to verify whether your exam qualifies for self-referral.

Preparation varies by exam:
MRI/CT: Avoid wearing metal and inform us of any implants or pacemakers.
Ultrasound: Some exams require fasting or a full bladder.
DEXA/X-ray: No special preparation needed.
You’ll receive specific instructions when scheduling your exam.
